In 2006, the wiring colour designations within the UK were harmonised with countries in mainland Europe to fulfil the specification of international standard IEC 60446. The standardisation of UK wiring colours was also covered in the second amendment of the 17th edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations for consistency and the avoidance of confusion.




Wiring inspections are recommended in order to identify any deterioration and ensure compliance with the internationally recognised regulations. Out went the old phase colours of Red, Yellow, Blue and Black and in came the new European colours of Brown, Black, Grey and Blue.





Increasingly industrial applications are requiring multiple technologies to be placed within a confined area. With aluminium now regularly replacing copper in order to save money, it is imperative that varied connections are interchangeable.




The Klippon® Connect WPD power feed-in distribution blocks by Weidmuller are a simple and safe solution to allow aluminium and copper conductors to be installed in a compact space. There is also the option for a small power supply and monitoring connections to be installed without disconnecting any previously connected terminations via a smaller connection point with PUSH IN technology.

















With a wide range of cable connection sizes available from a minimum solid copper of 6mm² up to 300mm² and aluminium of 16mm² up to 300mm², with rated currents from 120 Amps to 520 Amps in either AC or DC rating, these sturdy distribution blocks are easy to identify with the blocks coming in phase colours of blue, brown, black and grey. What clearer and easier way could there be for easy identification of incoming connections to your control panel, control system or solar application?



With the options of either direct chassis plate or TS35 DIN Rail mounting (in accordance with EN 60715 and EN 50022), rapid installation is possible. The WPD distribution blocks can be used whatever the material of the conductor.
