Touchless Technology - Hands Free Pushbuttons from Schneider Electric

Stay safe with Schneider Electric in 2020 and beyond as we look at how hands-free control devices can be easily integrated into your business to ensure you can be as risk free as possible.

Hygiene requirements call for the reduced sharing of microbes and an awareness of the lifespan of living viruses on surfaces such as stainless steel, plastic and glass. With these guidelines in place, many of us choose to open doors or use machines by using our elbows or feet over our hands or fingers, so the introduction of foot switches and elbow actuated pushbuttons has become a natural progression to contain the spread.

Elbow Actuated Wireless Pushbuttons
Schneider Electric's range of elbow actuated wireless push buttons suc h as the Harmony XB5R and the XALD control station are the perfect solution to minimise contact with simple installation and the peace of mind of battery less technology.

The Harmony XB5R plastic and the XB4R metal range of wireless and battery less pushbuttons are used for various building utilities such as automatic doors, lights, conveying systems, automotive, logistics, food and beverage and much more. They are based on two types of device transmitter and receiver which communicate via 2.4 GHz radio transmission over differing distances depending on their installation. Their ease of use enables companies to reduce maintenance and installation costs and the battery less technology means no replacing, recycling or recharging.

Ha rmony receiver and transmitter relays are available as individual components or as part of a packed solution.

Electromechanical Foot Switches

The XPE range of electromechanical foot switches from Schneider Electric provide a reliable and robust stop/start solution where using hands is not possible. Ideally foot switches can be used for a wide range of industrial applications including bending machines, dosing machines, assembly stations and packaging machines.

Utilising touch less technology that provides a solution to heavily used push button applications such as start/stop, open/close processes reduces the need for constant, unreasonable and unfeasible cleaning by internal team members. Ultimately constant cleaning means additional staff resources, less time performing actual duties and a longer hand over period between shifts.
